Narrow Series Spherical Bearing Swaging Tool Kit

This high-quality staking tool set is designed to install certain spherical bearings which have a groove on either face of the outer race ("Grumman groove"). Each set includes 2 pairs of anvil dies with a matching mandrel, one set to start the swage and one set to finish the swage.

Simply insert your bearing in your housing, assemble the starter dies and mandrel around the bearing, and use your hydraulic press to stake the bearing in place. The die set stakes both sides of the bearing simultaneously. Repeat with the finishing dies, and inspect. (Proofing tools are also available separately to test that your assembly meets design requirements.)

These tools are specifically designed to fit certain SAE-sized "narrow series" spherical bearings with a staking groove on either side of the outer race (Aurora ANC-xTG or PNB-xTG, Pegasus 3071-xG, NHBB ABT-xV or ADBxV, or any other brand meeting Mil Spec MS14101). When done properly, the installation should meet NAS 0331 Method 100 and MIL-STD-1999 requirements. Made in USA.

Note: Consult the bearing manufacturer, MIL-STD-1599 Notice 2, and/or NAS 0331 for specifics regarding suggested bore size and chamfer, swaging force, and final inspection.
