Reducing unsprung, rotating weight can have a significant impact upon a car's performance. These hi-tech rotors are designed to be as light as possible while still meeting SCCA rules for FF, FC, and S2000.
The hat section is precision machined from solid billet aluminum alloy, designed to allow thermal expansion without cracking. The solid ferrous discs are cross-drilled for improved brake cooling and further weight reduction. The complete hat and 9 7/8" disc assembly for an LD 19 caliper weighs less than 3.6 pounds! The discs for LD 20 calipers are the same thickness as the LD 19 disc (0.285 inch) for additional weight reduction.
Available for Swift, Reynard and Van Diemen applications that use Lockheed LD 19 or LD 20 brake calipers. Note: Some older Van Diemen uprights may require modification for rotor clearance.
Replacement parts available:
We recommend replacing the disc when the disc is worn to 0.250" thickness. At this thickness, the chamfers around the cross-drilled holes are effectively gone. This greatly increases the chances of stress cracks.
