This top-quality, Mil-Spec stranded wire is standard on military aircraft. It is also the wire of choice for F1 constructors.
Each strand of the copper conductor is individually tin plated for corrosion resistance and for excellent soldering qualities. The tough extruded ETFE (ethylene-tetrafluoroethylene) fluoropolymer insulation is rated for 150°C (302°F) operation and offers exceptional resistance to fuel, oil, most chemicals, cuts, and abrasion. Despite being thin and lightweight, the flame-retardant insulation is still extremely tough and rated for 600 volts.
Because the insulation is so tough, it is nearly impossible to strip the insulation without damaging the wire unless the correct stripping tool is used. (We offer a special Stripmaster Wire Stripper for ETFE Wire, Part No. 5004.)
24 gauge wire has a current rating of 5.1 amps, and the insulation diameter is .045 inches. Sold by the foot, or in 100 foot spools.
