Nut Plate Mounting Block

If you have ever used countersunk solid rivets to mount nut plates to a panel, chances are you've struggled to get the rivet head flush with the panel surface. The heads either stand up from the surface, or they manage to sink in farther than you want. The Nut Plate Block eliminates those problems!

Simply insert your countersunk rivets through the panel and through your nut plate as you normally would. Then install the Nut Plate Block by threading the mandrel into your nutplate from the front of the panel. This not only gives you a captive bucking bar, it also helps to hold the assembly together while you flatten the rivets from behind the panel. Peen the rivets with a hammer and punch, and you're done!

The polished face of the Nut Plate Block prevents marring the panel surface, while ensuring that the rivet heads remain flush with the panel throughout the operation. Sizes are currently available to fit #10 (10-32) and #08 (8-32) SAE sizes only. The oversized face allows it to work with any standard nut plate design -- full-size, compact, single-lug, corner, floating or fixed. Sold individually.
