Ferro-Carbon is a unique, high-tech family of friction materials developed and manufactured by Hawk Brake for the racing community. Hawk Pads do not require an extensive "bedding-in" procedure. Keep in mind however, that all disc brake pads require a short period of bedding-in before being used to the maximum of their potential.
DTC-70 Compound (U): Extremely high torque with very high initial bite. Designed for cars with very high deceleration rates and downforce. Excellent controlability. Recommended in CART, Toyota Atlantic, F2000, F3000, Trans-Am. 400-1600° F (800-1200° F optimal).
DTC-60 (G): Very high torque racing compound with high initial bite. DTC-60 was developed as a rear pad to be used with DTC-70 on the front, but it has also become popular as a front pad on lighter cars. Available only for a limited selection of popular racing calipers. Recommended for Trans-Am, GT1, CART, Formula Atlantic, F2000, F3000, and Sports Prototypes. 400-1600° F (700-1100° F optimal).
DTC-30 (W): Medium torque racing compound designed specifically for dirt track racing. The smooth bite, controllable torque, and superior release are tuned for the demands of dirt. Low temperature effectiveness also makes it great for gravel. Recommended for dirt circle track and gravel rally stages. 100-1200° F (100-800° F optimal).
Blue Compound (E): Medium/High torque brake compound. A reliable performer with a wide temperature range. Low pad and rotor wear rate with good brake modulation characteristics. #1 selling pad material for SCCA racing. Recommended for Road Racing and Rally applications where low to mid temperature effectiveness is critical. Also known as "Blue 9012". 250-1000° F (250-700° F optimal).
HP Plus Compound (N): This unique compound can take the heat at the track and get you home safely. Designed for the serious street and Autocross racer. Due to the dramatic friction level produced by this compound, rotor wear, noise, dust and pad life may be affected when used for city driving. Ideal for Solo II. 100-800° F (100-600° F optimal).
HPS Compound (F): This versatile compound has proven to be the ultimate dual purpose street and strip material available on the market today. Recommended for amateur to intermediate forms of drag racing. Can also be used in most light duty Dirt applications where low temperature cold effectiveness is required. An excellent street pad. Effective from dead cold up to 700° F (100-500° F optimal).
