Brand: Motul
The Motul Classic line of engine oils has been formulated specifically for cars over 20 years old. Instead of just repackaging an old formulation, Motul has combined past API standards with lessons learned from decades of motorsports successes. Each is packaged in vintage-look 2 liter metal cans. From 1950s antiques up through modern-classic "youngtimers" from the 1990s, the Motul Classic line has you covered.
Motul Classic Nineties 10W30 is a semi-synthetic oil designed to API SL standards. High zinc content (in the form of ZDDP, above 1800 ppm) helps to cushion and protect solid lifters and pushrods in older engines. Nineties is recommended for all American, Asian, and British 4-stroke gasoline engines (as well as Wankel rotary engines) from the late 1980s and 1990s.
Motul Classic Eighties 10W40 is a semi-synthetic oil designed to API SL standards. High zinc content (in the form of ZDDP, above 1800 ppm) helps to cushion and protect solid lifters and pushrods in older engines. Eighties is recommended for all American, Asian, and European 4-stroke gasoline or diesel engines (including boxer and Wankel rotary engines) from the 1980s.
Motul Classic Performance 20W50 is a mineral-based engine oil designed to satisfy API SF/CC (and older) standards. The API SF standard is appropriate for 4-stroke gasoline or diesel engines manufactured from 1950 to 1970. The high zinc content (in the form of ZDDP) helps to cushion and protect solid lifters and pushrods in older engines. Classic Performance can be mixed with pure synthetic or pure conventional oils. Ideal for Formula Ford 1600 engines. (Not for use in most automotive engines built after 1988.)
Note: The anti-wear ZDDP additive has been shown to damage catalytic converters. Oils conforming to API SK and later have significantly less ZDDP and are recommended for more modern engine designs.
