Hose and Cable Insulation and Protection

Thermal insulation products specifically for hoses, cables, and wiring

Insulate fuel hoses, oil hoses, electrical cables, throttle cables, and shifter cables from radiant exhaust heat. Many of these barriers and wraps also protect them from abrasion or other damage.

Firesleeve, FireFlex Snap Wrap, and obp Heat Protection Wrap all consist of a knit or woven silica/fiberglass inner layer with a silicone rubber outer layer. The silicone outer layer resists chemicals and abrasion, but some builders do not care for its appearance.
Thermo-Sleeve, Express Sleeve, Heat Barrier Tape, and Thermo-Flex all have an insulating inner layer with an aluminized reflective outer layer. The shiny outer layer is sometimes more desirable, but it is considerably less abrasion-resistant.

Firesleeve and Thermo-Sleeve are tubular products that must be installed before any ends are installed (e.g., hose ends or electrical terminals). They cannot be installed after assembly.
FireFlex Snap Wrap, obp Heat Protection Wrap, and Express Sleeve all have fasteners along the edge so they can be wrapped around a hose or wiring harness that is already assembled -- even if it's already installed and connected.
