This special Y-cable is intended specifically to connect two analog cameras (such as ASIN B01H1RFZYA, available from Amazon) to your AiM "1.2" version MX-Series dash (MXS 1.2, MXP, or MXG 1.2 including Strada versions). The extra-long cable lets you mount one camera 6 meters (19 feet 8 inches) from the dash and the other camera 4 meters (13 feet) from the logger. It is perfect for using one camera as a backup camera and another as a rearview mirror or front-facing ("curb view") camera.
Each camera end of the cable has one RCA plug-in connector and one DC power plug to connect to the stock plugs on the camera. A single 5-pin male 712 screw-in Binder connector at the other end screws into the 5-pin port between the two large harness connectors on the back of the dash. The male end is 1.5 meters (5 feet) from where the two female-ended cables split. Cables are sold individually.
Note 1: This adapter cable is specifically designed to work with cameras that have a single female DC plug and a single RCA female plug. It will not connect to the AiM version of the camera (with a 712 connector cable).
Note 2: Some cameras on the market have the correct connectors but run on 3.3V power. The AiM MX-Series 1.2 dashes provide a "battery voltage" (e.g., 12 volts in a 12V system) power supply. Be sure to check the specs on your camera before connecting it! You may need to rewire your camera to step down the voltage from the AiM dash.
