These steel D-rings are rated at 5,000 pounds breaking strength (1666 lbs WLL),* matching or exceeding the rating of most tie downs. Weaker D-rings are truly a weak link, negating the strength of the tie-down.
The recessed mount requires a 1" deep cutout in the trailer floor, but it presents almost no obstruction when the ring is folded down. The 1/8" thick mounting plate measures 4 1/2" wide x 4 7/8" long, with four 3/8" diameter bolt holes. The 3/8" thick forged ring has a 1 3/8" ID (approximately 1/8" of the ID is below the top surface of the mounting plate). Sold individually.
* WLL based on a 3 to 1 safety margin. Note that the actual strength also depends on the strength of the mounting hardware. Using high-quality hardware will allow the full rated capacity. Grade 5 should be considered the minimum acceptable strength to use.
