Our original Nutsert Placing Tools (Part No. 659) are light-duty tools designed for occasional use and field repairs. If you plan to install more than a half-dozen Insert Nuts, this tool will make the job considerably easier. Just thread the insert onto the mandrel, place the insert in the hole, and twist the T-handle while holding the side handle steady. Once the insert is installed, unscrew the T-handle from the insert.
Note: Requires the appropriate Hi-Torquer Conversion Kit (Part No. 1185-101, sold separately) to match the inserts you will be installing. The quick-change nose design allows you to convert the tool to whatever thread size you need. Noses are sold separately so you only have to buy the size(s) you will really use!
If you will be installing dozens of Insert Nuts, or if you need to install 10-32 Rivet Nuts (Part No. 650-3), our Double-Action Lever Tool (Part No. 1185-004) makes the job easier. For serious assembly-line work, or for 1/4-28 Rivet Nuts, our Plunger Double-Action Lever Tool (Part No. 1185-003) is a must.
